Question / Issue
How do I point my domain to my new website using Network Solutions?

Answer / Solution

Warning - Advanced Configuration
Please note that configuring your own DNS is dangerous and can lead to the disabling of your website and email.  If you desire, our support technicians will be happy to point your domain name for you.

  1. Log in to your account at http://www.networksolutions.com.
  2. Click Edit DNS under DNS Settings. The Edit DNS page will appear.
(If you have not previously edited DNS entries for your domain name, you may need to select Custom DNS Setting.)
  3. Under the DNS Manager-Advanced Tools panel, click Continue. The DNS Manager - Advanced Tools page will appear.
  4. Under the IP Address panel, click the Add/Edit button. The IP Address: A Records table will appear.
  5. On the www line select the Delete check box.
  6. Click the Go> button.
  7. Under the Host Aliases panel, click the Add/Edit button. The IP Address: A Records table will appear.
  8. On the www line select the Other Host radio button.  If this line does not exist, input www into the Alias text box.
  9. Input consumer.insurancewebsitebuilder.com into the Other Host text box.
  10. Click the Go> button.
  11. Notify the Insurance Website Builder support team that you have completed these changes.

Updating your Mail Records
Only update your mail records if you have already setup your mail within the Insurance Website Builder administration console.  Do not complete these steps if you are keeping your mail at your current provider.

  1. Under the Mail Servers panel, click the Add/Edit button. The Mail Servers table will appear.
  2. Remove any existing MX records by checking the Delete check box.
  3. In the Priority text box enter 10.
  4. In the Mail Server text box enter mx1.emailsrvr.com.
  5. In the next Priority text box enter 20.
  6. In the next Mail Server text box enter mx2.emailsrvr.com.
  7. Click the Save> button.
