How do I optimize my site for the search engines?

Answer / Solution

The Insurance Website Builder system automatically optimizes your site for proper search engine placement.  However, you might want to update the default configurations to further optimize your sites ranking possibiites.  The site creates default text automatically for the Title, Description and Keyword fields.  You can override this settings using the Seach Engine Optimization Console.

Updating the Default SEO Settings
All settings on this page are optional and affect the site globally unless overwritten by individual settings.  If left blank the site will automatically use the pre-optimized selections.

  1. Type the site title into the Page Title text box.
     
    Default Text Example: Free Demo Website - Home Page - www.freedemowebsite.com

     
  2. Type the site descripion into the Page Description text box.
     
    Default Text Example : Free Demo Website covering all of your personal and business needs.  Our convenient website allows you to request insurance quotes twenty-four hours a day.  Our valued customers can also service their policies at anytime, day or night, at www.freedemowebsite.com.

     
  3. Type the page keywords of into the Page Keywords text box.  The site will create a keyword list automatically based upon the modules and settings selected.  You can automatically create the keywords based upon your selection by clicking the Auto Create Keywords link.
     
  4. Type the key as provided in the Google Webmaster Tools Setup Help page into the Google Verification Key text box.
     
  5. Click the Update SEO Settings when finished.
     

The Insurance Website Builder ensures that you your site is listed within the search engines after 60 days of hosting, however, no guarantee is given to where your ranking is within the engines.

Character maximums are dictated by the search engines.
